This was my first time ever sipping Basil Hayden Bourbon… actually I had never even known of it before this tasting. If you enjoy sipping on a delicious glass of Bourbon, you may just enjoy this quick and simple video review of something you might want to go try, straight away.
Anotha one! Here’s to a bourbon that’s not as commonly spoken about, Larceny Kentucky Straight. Of course whenever anyone utters the words Bourbon the first place I think of is Kentucky, the birth place of bourbon. If you haven’t had the chance to get your hands on this bourbon, I would definitely consider trying it next time you run out of bourbon!
A friend of mine said I should try Buffalo Trace Bourbon, I was hesitant because he doesn’t have the best taste in liquor. I found this video that changed my mind pretty quickly. Check it out.

I definitely have to do this whenever I get the chance to make it out to Kentucky! This video guides us down the Kentucky Bourbon Trail making pit stops at Wild Turkey, Four Roses, Makers Mark, and Jim Bean!

Scotch test dummies just put up a great video about a few different bourbon’s that are great for your wallet! They give a smell review, taste review, and their personal thoughts! Comment if you’ve had any of these Bourbons before! I’d love to put one in my bar as an easy go-to when the good stuff is gone or dwindling!

For the first time in over 12 years, and for the first time under master distiller Brent Elliot (what a fucking job to have), the Four Roses Distillery will be releasing Small Batch Select. It will be a 104 proof blend of 5-10 of their recipes. The idea behind Select is to make the Four Roses premium line a bit more approachable in price point. This is set to be your every day or anytime bourbon. At $45 a bottle and aged between 6-7 years, Small Batch Select may not become your every day drink, but it can certainly work its way into routine rotation (don’t mind if I do).
Official tasting notes for Four Roses Small Batch Select include raspberries, clove and nutmeg on the nose. The distillery reports it opens into flavors of apricot, ripe berries, vanilla and light oak as it hits the palate, and has a lingering finish with notes of spearmint and a touch of cinnamon.
I’m personally looking forward to giving Select a shot…or sip I should say.

In Bardstown, KY, Barton 1792 Distillery lost 120,000 gallons of mash after one of the legs of a tank gave way. The tank stored fermented mash that would eventually turn into bourbon.
Two people were injured but were released from nearby Flaget Memorial Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Local water supplies had to be tested to ensure no contamination.
The Barton 1792 Distillery is home to various brands, including 1792 Bouron, Very Old Barton, Kentucky Gentleman, and others.
No word yet on the number of drunken employees present that led to this catastrophe.
