Blog 5: Padilla Miami 8&11 Limited Edition El Titan De Bronze Lancero – Spirited Smoke

Blog 5: Padilla Miami 8&11 Limited Edition El Titan De Bronze Lancero

So I was in a rush today to get to work and literally put my hand into my humidor and out came this Lancero stick I received awhile back from the PCC (Privada Cigar Club). Hym, interesting I thought as I smelled the cigar. Tobacco with apricots and tea I thought to myself.

So cut and light and sure enough, that tea taste was very prominent indeed! It’s not a bad thing, but for Superdan, “tea” tasting cigars isn’t really my…wait for it….wait for it…. cup of tea…ha ha he he. Looking at my notes now it had tea with white pepper on the tail end, saltiness as well. Started medium strength for me but the strength revved up for me as the cigar smoked down to a full.

So…on the Superdan 1-5 star scale…1 being worst of the worst…5 being the best of the best

Construction: 3.7 The wrapper and burn line was pretty solid throughout; however, I had to relight at the mid point and relight again between the last third. But it may be my fault as it may of been over-humidified in the humidor. So instead of 3.5 I will give it a 3.7 as I fix my humidor settings.

Taste: 3.7 Like I said, if you like tea tasting, salty, white pepper, this is the cigar for you.

Price: 3.6 The prices I am seeing are around $15 a stick. I remember a saying that goes something like this: How much is something worth? Whatever somebody is willing to pay for it. Is $15 a good price for this stick? You can answer that question better than I can.

Overall: 3.7 I put this in a category of a unique stick. In terms of that tea and salt taste components, being a lancero, being a limited edition, I’m honored to be able to smoke it…even if it’s not completely in Superdan’s wheelhouse. Like I said, do you like tea, some salt, white pepper, hints of apricot, and some strength? It’s the cigar for you.

Cheers!

I'm always curious about peoples rating system, is there more to this then meets the eye....whats the difference between 3.6 and 3.7, with the except of the .1..:)

@peepso_user_21(Phil Hawkins) Well, I never really like the 100 ratings because nearly all cigars are 88-98. And what do they really mean? I'm not really sure. I prefered the LeeMack912 type 1-5 star scale. Generally, if it's 3.0 or lower, terrible... 3.5 or lower, it's not good. 3.6-3.7 passable, 3.8-4.0 good, 4.0-4.5 Very good, 4.5 or above damn good. Hey, it's not very scientific, but works for me and gives some sort of scale of the layman's analysis of said stick. Cheers.

I’ve only had one of these, but I ordered two more for the humi. To me it was a damn fine stick, and totally in my wheelhouse .
